HUNTING AND FISHING

SCROLL DOWN FOR RECENT PHOTOS!!!

June 29th, 2008: After a very slow start to summer like weather the fishing, lake temperature, and weather has greatly improved. The fish opener and the month of May produced a lot of walleyes in the 18" to 24" class. Crappie fishing was a mixed bag all spring depending on the weather each day; however last week some of our guests reported excellent crappie fishing in the evenings. Large mouth bass are now on the prowl with crank baits and top water being the lure to use. Walleyes have been hard to find as of late, but our latest reports are that night fishing and crank baits seem to be working the best.

We have three lakes and a river for you to fish on. You can even catch all kinds of fish right from the dock. Our spring fed lakes are at the headwaters of the Otter Tail River system and are very clean & clear. There are a variety of fish including panfish, crappies, largemouth bass, perch, northern and walleye pike, bull heads, etc.

Our spring/fall/winter specials include HALF-PRICE RATES for MIDWEEK stays (Monday thru Thursday); HALF-PRICE RATES Sunday night if you stay a Friday & Saturday night; 25% weekend discount for 2-persons in a 2-bedroom cabin and 20% discount for groups of 20 or more. Call on Wednesdays or later during the week for our last minute getaway specials for the coming weekend. Take advantage of our unbelievable midweek specials for your company or group retreat in the fall/winter/spring seasons and get 20% off our weekend rates for a group of 20 or more.

July 2nd, 2008: The Rucks boys spent the evening catching this nice stringer of crappies and large mouth bass while their parents were trying to figure out how they were doing it. The crappies have moved from the shallows and are being found suspended in 15' to 20' of water.

June 25th, 2008: During the last week of June the Swanberg family summer reunion group did well on catching bass back in Johnny Cake lake with top water plugs. This 3# 12oz. bass was caught and released by Mike. They also stated that the action seem to be better in the early morning hours. Angling for the big bass has also big up on Little Bemidji and Elbow lake as the water continues to warm up.

June 26th, 2008: This is just one of the good number of fish caught by the Twardowski family this past week. They have had fresh fish to eat every night for the group and had a lot of fun catching a good number of good sized pan fish. Our lakes provide a great boating and fishing opportunity for all ages.

June 24th, 2008: Look at this one people! Taylor caught and released this 4# 120z. bass in Johnny Cake lake in the morning hours.

June 21st, 2008: This walleye was caught on a chartreuse spinner in about 14' of water. The walleye fishing as of late has slowed a little, but with some time put in on the lake I am sure people will find out what the angle is. Warm weather and a rapid change in the lake vegetation and temperature the walleyes have moved to deeper water and changed their feeding habits from May and the first part of June.
