Resort Lodge

The focal point of Rainbow Resort is our Lodge, which offers a picturesque view of the lake and is located by our beautiful flower garden.

We serve a limited menu of food.  The Lodge is stocked with beverages like coffee, soda, juice, sports drinks, and water, along with tempting snacks and candy. We also provide essential groceries and supplies for your convenience.  We can assist you with getting on-line fishing licenses. Additionally, we offer a selection of bait and tackle, as well as oil, gasoline, and propane tanks for grills.  Wireless Wi-Fi is available in the Lodge.  See our Lodge page for further information.

Recreation Center

Our Recreation Center at Rainbow Resort is a hub of entertainment and activity. Inside, you'll find a spacious game room filled with electronic games, a pool table, board games, TV, etc. We also provide convenient self-service laundry facilities, clean restrooms with showers and a sauna on the lower level.  Wireless Wi-Fi is available in the Recreation Center.

For outdoor enthusiasts, we offer a wide range of summer and winter sports equipment rentals, including kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, cross-country skis, snowshoes, ice skates, ice fish houses, boats, motors and pontoon boats. Whether you're looking for indoor or outdoor recreation, our Recreation Center has something for everyone to enjoy.  See our Recreation page for various recreational activities.

Onsite Skiing-Hiking Trails

Discover our 23 kilometers of onsite cross-country ski trails which have ski in, ski out access from the cabins. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced skier, we have trails suited to your skill level, with some offering gentle slopes and others providing exciting challenges. We offer convenient ski rental packages, including skis, poles, and boots as well as other winter items such as snowshoes, ice skates, fish houses, etc.   Don't forget to reserve your equipment in advance to ensure availability.  For trail conditions, check out our Trails page and visit the NOAA website for current snow depth.  We are located north of Park Rapids & Detroit Lakes at 47.1 North & 95.6 West.

During the warmer months, our onsite trails transform into picturesque hiking and biking paths. Explore the beauty of our heavily forested surroundings as you venture through exclusive trails reserved for our guests. With the resort property including a mile of shoreline and 600 acres of woodland dotted with lakes and ponds, you'll feel immersed in a serene wilderness as you hike along our onsite trails. And keep an eye out for deer and other wildlife as you enjoy traveling through our part of northwestern Minnesota.

Snowmobiling Wonderland

Rainbow Resort is a favorite destination of snowmobiling enthusiasts, offering access to an extensive network of groomed public snowmobile trails spanning hundreds of miles. These trails are regularly groomed by both the state and local snowmobile clubs, ensuring excellent riding conditions. Thanks to our elevated location on the western slopes of the Laurentian Divide near the headwaters of the Mississippi, we often enjoy favorable snow conditions throughout the winter season. Our modern, fully winterized cabins provide cozy accommodations, while our lodge remains open during winter, offering hot food and beverages with stunning lake views. And don't overlook our challenging disc golf course that winds its way through a beautiful section of the resort.  Our Recreation Center has electronic games, board games, pool table, books/videos, TV, etc.
