Rainbow Resort is 4-5 hours from the Twin Cities. Take I-94 north to the Clearwater or Highway 24 exit. Cross over to Highway 10 at Clear Lake. Follow Highway 10 west/north to Wadena; then, take Highway 71 north through Park Rapids, and continue for around 18 miles.* Take Highway 113 west for 21 miles to County Road 35 (West Elbow Lake Road). If you pass Itasca State Park, you've gone too far. At County Road 35, go four miles south to the resort.
* Of course, you could continue north on I-94 to Sauk Center; then take Highway 71 north to Wadena. Or continue on I-94 to Fergus Falls and then take Highway 59 north to Detroit Lakes.
